Hull City interested in former Watford and Cambridge United striker

Hull City are interested in Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu.

The 24-year-old has impressed in the Scottish Premiership this season and has emerged as a summer transfer target for the Tigers, as per a report by Hull Live.

Celtic, Rangers and Cardiff City have all also been credited with an interest in him as Hearts look to sell him  for a fee of around £1 million. Ikpeazu joined the Edinburgh side last summer and has since scored six goals for Craig Levein’s side.

The London-born forward started his career at Reading and rose through the youth ranks at the Madejski Stadium. However, he left the Royals as a youngster in 2013 to join Watford.

Ikpeazu never made a senior appearance for the Hornets but gained plenty of first-team experience out on loan. He had two loan spells at Crewe Alexandra from 2013 to 2015 in League One and had later spells with the likes of Doncaster Rovers, Port Vale and Blackpool.

He was released by Watford in 2016 and subsequently joined League Two side Cambridge United. Ikpeazu scored a combined 22 goals in all competitions during his two seasons at the Abbey Stadium.

His move to Scotland last summer looks to have paid dividends for him with clubs like Hull, Cardiff, Celtic and Rangers now showing an interest.

Nigel Adkins’ Hull will be in the hunt for a new striker this summer with Frazier Campbell’s contract expiring and Chris Martin’s loan from Derby County coming to an end.
