Wrexham players have called for their owners to try and outdo last year's Las Vegas party to celebrate their latest promotion.

That's according to Red Dragons star Ben Tozer, who told talkSPORT that they could even potentially push for the Championship next season too.

A 6-0 thumping of Forest Green Rovers saw Wrexham secure a spot in League One next season and seal back-to-back promotions.

Victory is the latest milestone in their success story under Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who took over in 2021.

They rewarded their National League winning squad with a lavish trip to Las Vegas, with Tozer revealing they were 'treated like royalty'.

But it seems as though Wrexham players want to go one step further as Tozer told talkSPORT Breakfast: "I mean, all we've said to them is, 'Try and top last year if you can!' That's it."

Host Jeff Stelling then joked that McElhenney called him and said that he'll send the players to the Welsh town of Rhyl to celebrate.

However, it doesn't seem like Tozer is too familiar with the seaside location as he laughed and replied: "Where's that?"

Former Wrexham star Ben Foster believes McElhenney and Reynolds spent 'at least half a million' on their Vegas bonanza last year that certainly proved to be a wild weekend.

After landing in Sin City, they visited Hakkasan for dinner and then partied in the nightclub that had Wrexham spelled out on placards, with a pool party and Steve Aoki gig coming the next day.

They also managed to fit in a round of golf, before heading to the city's iconic strip and enjoying lobster for dinner as well as an ice sculpture shaped in the club badge.

Wrexham's National League triumph last season ended their 15-year absence from the football league, and they could still even win the League Two title this month.

Tozer also believes the club are capable of securing what would be a sensational third consecutive promotion next year, but doesn't want them to get ahead of themselves.

"I don't see why the club can't but at the same time, let's just enjoy this one while it's here and take the next one as it comes."

Wrexham, who are second in League Two, next face a trip to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday in their penultimate game of the season.

They face table-topping Stockport County at home on the final day of the season, a match that could decide the League Two title.

Stockport are four points clear though and should they beat Notts County in their game in hand on Tuesday, they'll win the title.

However, should they slip up and drop points against Accrington Stanley, then Wrexham could win the trophy for themselves.

And should they do so, Reynolds and McElhenney would surely make the celebrations even grander as their Hollywood fairytale continues.
